After breakfast
our motorcoach takes us to Skye, "the Misty Isle",
which is the largest of the Inner Hebridean islands,
divided into six peninsulas. Each has its own distinctive
characteristics, from the wild grandeur of the north
to the lush green scenery of the south. Claire Macdonald
of Macdonald welcomes us to Kinloch Lodge for a cookery
demonstration.
We return to the
mainland and rejoin the train at Kyle. During lunch
we retrace part of yesterday's route as far as Inverness
before heading east to Keith.

This afternoon
we have the exclusive opportunity to experience life
in a traditional working Highland distillery, and
to sample some of the products! We rejoin the train
for our informal dinner as we head south through an
area of mainly arable and dairy farming, to Aberdeen,
the "Granite City".
We then follow
the coast through Stonehaven and Montrose before reaching
Arbroath, famous for its "smokies". We pass Carnoustie
which has one of the many good golf courses in this
region on our way to Perth where we stable overnight.
